2014: The Cinema Warehouse “In Review”

I am very, VERY proud to say that I made an extreme amount of headway with this blog this year. It was only six short months ago that I had only 6 major entries on this blog, and now I have over 80. All of them very bizarre, very frank, very detailed, and very long. lol

Now I’ll admit, I like to check the stats of this blog every day in order to try and put out a new entry every time the traffic starts to dip. So it doesn’t surprise me what most of the final stats turned out to be in this wordpress round-up here.

However, the one stat I don’t think they mention, and they should, is how many paragraphs, sentences, and words I wrote during the entirety of the year. Well I would like to make a guess at the number. It is perhaps a conservative effort, but one that I don’t doubt is very close to the truth.

I would guesstimate that based on the typical amount of words being 3,800 for each of my posts, and the number of full length posts being about 65, that the number of words I’ve written in the last six months is around 247,000 words. Unbelievable. I knew I wrote a lot. I even wrote enormous essays back in middle school and high-school that were 10 pages long. But I never thought I could make a hobby out of writing this much. But it is extremely fun, extremely rewarding, and I often learn new things about the films I watch, and even new things about myself as I’m watching and writing about them.

This blog has been an enormously important aspect of my recent life, and my hope is that it can expand and grow and become a hot-spot for obscure and rare info on interesting topics, movies, and other related information. I’ve also begun the process of building a self-hosted version of this blog, which will be going through a transitional process sometime next year. After which it will be referred to simply as The Cinema Warehouse. FilmmakerJ will no longer be a part of the title. The layout will change once again, the content will expand, and the look and feel of the blog will continue to be reworked and refined.

The anticipation is high for 2015. Who knows what strange and exotic films I’ll be able to track down? Who knows what new territory I will face in my criticisms? And who knows how many more followers and viewers will come to check the place out?

So here’s to 2014, and here’s to a brand new year!

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2014 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,100 times in 2014. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 4 trips to carry that many people.
