Hi guys. I’m sure some of you out there are familiar with the Portal game franchise by Valve Games. And some of you may also be familiar with the game Dishonored by Arkane Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Well as you may also know, there have been a few fan films produced in response to these franchises, and one of them was written and directed by my friend, Michael McMullan, called “Portal: Origins.”
It’s a fan-fiction concept that mixes the world of Dishonored with the world of Portal, and explains that the original Portal gun technology was developed in Dunwall by Piero 100s of years ago, and was spear-headed by the Outsider (the one who grants you your otherwordly powers throughout Dishonored.
Personally, I thought the idea of mixing these games together was a brilliant idea. And to now see that Mike is pursuing a long-awaited and much grander sequel to his original short film, I couldn’t be more excited for what’s in store.
I think Mike is a very talented upcoming filmmaker. He and I both studied at the Savannah College of Art & Design. I respect his technique and his creativity. And if you think you’d like to see a bigger and more epic follow-up to “Portal: Origins,” then I hope you will head over and support the project.
